Overview

Trail Overview

Skip Hawa Mahal selfies. We eat at places locals actually go, walk through the old walled city with a textile artist, visit stepwells and cenotaphs that don't appear in guidebooks, and stay in a restored haveli. This is Jaipur the way Jaipur people experience it.

Why this journey exists

Every tourist goes to Jaipur and sees the same five things. I spent two weeks there with a local textile artist who showed me a completely different city — one built around craft, food, and water architecture. The chai shop we visit has been open since 1926. The block printer's family has been doing this for 400 years. That's the Jaipur worth your time.
