This road trip traces the ancient trade routes between the Blue City and the Golden City across the Thar Desert, stopping at forgotten havelis, living forts, and desert villages where Rajput hospitality has survived centuries unchanged. You will explore the labyrinthine lanes of Jodhpur's old city beneath the towering Mehrangarh Fort, drive through the emptying landscape as farmland gives way to dunes, sleep in a 400-year-old haveli in Jaisalmer's living fort, and spend a night under stars in the Sam dunes with Manganiar musicians playing folk songs by firelight. This is Rajasthan beyond the palace hotels and camel-selfie circuit - a drive through a landscape where every sandstone wall tells a story and every chai stall conversation leads somewhere unexpected.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Jodhpur
Arrive in the Blue City. Evening walk through the old city lanes. Sunset from the rooftop with views of Mehrangarh Fort. Welcome Rajasthani thali.
Day 2: Jodhpur: Mehrangarh & Old City
Full day exploring Jodhpur. Morning at Mehrangarh Fort with private guide. Afternoon walking tour of old city - stepwell, clock tower, spice market. Evening at Jaswant Thada.
Day 3: Jodhpur to Osian & Khimsar
Drive to Osian - the 'Khajuraho of Rajasthan' with 8th-century Jain and Hindu temples. Continue to Khimsar Fort for lunch. Afternoon camel safari in Thar fringe.
Day 4: Khimsar to Jaisalmer
Drive through the heart of the Thar. Stop at Pokhran - the nuclear test site town with a forgotten fort. Arrive Jaisalmer by afternoon. First walk inside the living fort.
Day 5: Jaisalmer Fort, Havelis & Sam Dunes
Morning exploring Jaisalmer Fort - the only living fort in India. Visit Patwon-ki-Haveli and Nathmal-ki-Haveli. Afternoon drive to Sam dunes. Sunset camel ride. Dinner with Manganiar musicians under the stars.
Day 6: Desert Sunrise & Departure
Sunrise over the dunes. Drive back to Jaisalmer. Optional visit to Kuldhara ghost village. Farewell lunch. Depart.
