Pricing Philosophy: Why New Destinations Cost More
8 June 2025
Our pricing has three tiers: Classic, Signature, and Explorer. Here's why.
Classic journeys are routes we've run multiple times. The logistics are dialed in, the relationships are established, and the costs are predictable. These are our most affordable journeys.
Signature journeys include premium touches - heritage hotel stays, curated cultural experiences, specialist guides. The accommodation and experience quality is higher, so the price reflects that.
Explorer journeys are the most expensive because they're the most expensive to create. A new Explorer journey requires 2-4 weeks of solo scouting, failed routes, rejected campsites, and dozens of conversations with local communities. That reconnaissance work - which happens months before the first paying traveler arrives - is what you're paying for.
We're transparent about this because we believe travelers deserve to know what goes into the price. You're not paying for a hotel room and a bus ticket. You're paying for someone to find the journey first, test it, and make sure it's worth your time and money.
